I need more time...

Eu só vos queria mostrar o que eu tenho andado a fazer com o meu (pouco) tempo livre...Eu tento manter-me em contacto com o mundo lá fora, mas quando estou cá dentro de casa, há muito pouco tempo para fazer alguma coisa (para além de tomar conta do James). Estou a tentar adaptar-me a esta nova situação (mantendo o meu saco de tricot sempre no sofá, com alguns projectos em andamento), mas as coisas por aqui andam um bocadinho devagar, literalmente! Um projecto pequeno como esta Cowl acima levou-me quase um mês a completar!?! De qualquer maneira...apesar dos meus prazos serem "esticados" vezes sem conta, este pequeno projecto está pronto a tempo de ir aquecer um pescoço querido muito em breve :) A lã que usei foi Malabrigo chunky (comprada na loja fabulosa Imagiknit em São Francisco quando lá fomos no final de 2008), uma maravilha de se trabalhar...e as cores? São um sonho!
Não é a primeira vez que faço uma Cowl com esta lã (fiz outra em tons de cinzento no Verão passado, também para oferecer), mas não tive a oportunidade de tirar fotografias....

I just wanted to show you what I've been doing with my (little) free time...I try to keep in contact with the world outside our house but, when I'm inside it there's little time to do anything (besides taking care of James). I'm trying to adapt to this new situation (that's why my knitting bag is always on the couch, with one or two projects on the go) but things here are very slow, literally! A small project like this Cowl above took me nearly a month to finish!?! Anyway...despite my deadlines being stretched so many times, this little project is on time, ready to warm a dear neck very very soon :) The yarn I used was Malabrigo Chunky (bought in the fabulous shop Imagiknit in San Francisco when we went there at the end of 2008), wonderful to work with...and the colours? They're a dream!
This was not the first time that I knited a Cowl with this yarn (I made a beautiful one last summer in grey tones to give as a present as well), but I didn't get the chance to take pictures of it...

...é assim...preciso de mais tempo! 24 horas não são suficientes no meu dia....não são suficientes para tricotar, para tirar fotos, para ler, para escrever, enfim...tem que ser aos poucos :) A fotografia acima foi a única que tirei das várias peças (pequeninas) que tricotei para oferecer no Natal passado :)

...that's it...I need more time! 24 hours are not enough in my day...they're not enough to knit, to take fotos, to read, to write, anyway...it has to be little by little :) The photo above was the only picture I took to the (little) pieces I knitted to give as present last Christmas :)

A giveaway...

Este fim-de-semana pensei...e que tal dar uma prenda aos leitores do meu blog para celebrar o meu 150º post? E que tal um livro leve e romântico? Afinal o dia dos namorados está quase a chegar...Ficou decidido! This weekend I had an idea...what about giving a present to my blog readers to celebrate its 150th post? And what about giving a romantic, light book? After all, Valentine's Day is around the corner...It was decided! Whoever would like to have this book (plus a few surprises only has to write a comment on this post saying what is the food they love :) The winner will be announced here on the 14th February.

A new era

Este fim-de-semana andei a pensar em coisas que eu penso que me fariam feliz este ano...passar mais tempo junto ao mar, ler mais livros, aprender coisas novas e fazer mais tricot :)

This weekend I was thinking of things that would make me happy this year...spend more time by the sea, read more books, learn new things and do more knitting :)

James' first holidays in Portugal

Chegámos de avião e não de cão voador...esta foi "só" mais uma das "montanhas" de prendas que o James recebeu neste Natal em Portugal :)

We arrived by plane, even if it seems that we went over by "flying dog"...that was "just" one more present,from the "mountains" that James received this Christmas,this time in Portugal :)

O James também recebeu abraços, sorrisos, beijinhos, miminhos sem fim de primos, avós, bisavós, tios, tios-avós, madrinhas, padrinhos e amigos...ufa tanta gente que gosta do nosso bebé e ele adorou tudo e todos!! :)

James also received lots of hugs, smiles and kisses from cousins, grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles & aunties, great-uncles & aunties, godparents and friends...oh so many people that loves our baby and he loved everything and everybody!! :)

E claro que houve tempo para conviver com a família e amigos à volta de mesas bem recheadas...não resisti a tirar uma fotografia da bolacha-ovelha que a minha prima Ana Luísa fez especialmente para mim :) não é o máximo?

Of course we had time to spend around good food with the family and friends...I couldn't resist and took a picture of the sheep-biscuit that my cousin Ana Luísa made especially for me :) isn't it cute?

Acho que posso falar pelo James ao dizer que ele se divertiu imenso e adorou conhecer toda a gente :) Agora imaginem como é que vai ser no Verão com bom tempo, praia, ainda mais família à volta dele (incluindo primos pequeninos), etc, etc...

I think I can speak for James when I say that he had a great time and loved meeting everybody :) Now imagine how is it going to be in the summer with the good weather, trips to the beach, more family (including little cousins), etc, etc...

What?!? 5 months?!?

Eu sei, eu sei...só falo acerca deste bebé ;) É difícil não o fazer...ele é tão querido (e eu tão imparcial)!!! Ele faz 5 meses hoje e está cada vez mais divertido e popular (em breve ponho aqui as fotos das primeiras férias em Portugal). O meu anjinho rochuchudo :)
