Energia...preciso dela para acabar os trabalhos da universidade, para brincar o dia todo com o James, para fazer tudo o que há a fazer aqui em casa...para começar bem o dia. Que bem que sabiam agora umas fériazinhas...

Energy...I need it to finish my college essays, to play all day with James, to do the "million" things I have to do around the house...to start the day in a good way. Some holidays now would be just great...

A fatia de pão de coco que podem ver no meu prato do pequeno almoço desta manhã dá-me bastante energia, mas já a penúltima (fiz o pão ontem à noite)!!! Isto mostra a sua popularidade entre (todos) os membros da nossa família ;) É uma receita do meu australiano preferido, o Bill (Granger) e tirei-a de um programa de televisão...aqui fica. Experimentem fazê-la (é muito fácil e rápida) e boa semana!

The slice of coconut bread that you can see on my breakfast plate gives me a lot of energy but it was already the second last one (I baked the bread last night)!!! It shows how popular it is amongst (all) the members of our family ;) It's a recipe from my favourite Australian, Bill (Granger) and I saw it on tv...and here it is. Try to bake it (it's really easy & quick) and have a great week!

Pão de Côco do Bill/Bill's Coconut Bread

Ingredientes "secos"/dry ingredients

Peneire 2 chávenas e meia de farinha e 2 colheres de chá de pó royal/Sift 2 ½ cups of plain flour & 2 teaspoons of baking powder

1 chávena de açúcar fino/1 cup of caster sugar

1 colher de chá de canela/1 teaspoon of cinammon

150g de côco ralado/150g Shreded (or dessicated) coconut

Misture todos os ingredientes "secos" /Mix all the dry ingredients together.

Ingredientes líquidos/Wet ingredients

300 ml de leite/300 ml milk

2 ovos/2 eggs

Misture os dois juntos/Mix them together

Adicione uma dose considerável de essência de baunilha/Add a good dash of vanilla

Misture tudo junto com uma colher de pau. Adicione 75g de manteiga derretida. Ponha tudo numa forma ligeiramente untada. Vai ao forno a 180 graus durante mais ou menos uma hora.

Mix everything together with a wooden spoon. Add 75g of melted butter. Put everything in a lightly greased tin. It will take about 1 hour to bake at 180 degrees.

18 meses :: 18 months

O nosso pequenino já tem 18 meses...sim, 18! Eu também não acredito.
Ele está cada vez mais querido, fofinho e teimoso :) É muito activo (corre, trepa tudo...), fala muito (mas nós só percebemos aí 1% da conversa dele), come muito bem (sinceramente não tenho ideia de quem é que ele poderá ser parecido ;)) e, ultimamente, adora colorir e fazer os seus rabiscos com lápis de cera, brincar ao ar livre (de preferência com uma bola por perto) e explorar tudo o que é novo. O nosso pequenino está cada vez maior...

Our little one is 18 months already...yes, 18! I can't believe it either.
He's even mor cute, sweet and stuburn :) He's very active (he runs and climbs everything...), talks a lot (but we only get 1% of what he says), eats very well and a lot (I have no idea of whom he might be like ;)) and lately he loves to colour everything with his crayons, play outside (especially if there is a ball near by) and explore everything that looks new. Our little one is soooo grown up...

Opening of the wedding season

Sexta-feira estivemos num casamento muito bonito...começámos a "época dos casamentos" em grande este ano ;)

We were at a beautiful wedding on Friday...great way to start "wedding season" this year ;)

No passado fim-de-semana tricotei estas luvas sem dedos para a nossa querida amiga e babysitter Leslie. Ela é o máximo e nós adoramos dar-lhe prendinhas (estas para combinar com a Dolores Cowl que já lhe tinhamos dado - ver foto do post anterior) só para dizer obrigado :)

I knitted these fingerless mitts for our dear friend and babysitter Leslie last weekend. She is fantastic and we love giving her little presents (these ones to match the Dolores Cowl that we had given her already - see photo from the previous post) just to say thank you :)

Com um dia assim...With a day like this...

Os dias lá fora têm estado assim... cinzentos e tristes(todos precisamos da Dolores Cowl na foto).
The days have been like this outside...grey and "sad" (we all need a Dolores Cowl like the one in the photo).

Mas cá dentro é uma alegria...gostamos de papar, brincar e até de limpar a casa com os nossos aspiradores ;)

But inside the house it's a happy day...we like to munch, to play and even to clean the house with our little hoovers ;)

Sick...and day-dreaming

Estou em casa (com uma dose de gripe e bronquite e a descansar por ordem do médico), e a sonhar com o que gostaria de estar a fazer...ooooohhhhh...e vamos voltar a dormir!

I'm at home (with flu & bronchitis and with orders to rest from the doctor) and dreaming about what I'd like to be doing....oooooohhhh...& let's go back to sleep again!

O que tenho andado a fazer :: What I've been doing

É incrível, mas esta é a única fotografia que tenho das prendas de Natal que fiz...é um babete que bordei para a bebé Isla. Em ano de Natal em Portugal, é especialmente difícil para mim acabar todas as prendas na minha lista a tempo e horas e, por isso, a maior parte ficou por fotografar. Oh...houve um cachecol com bolsos, uma calorimetry, uma cowl, um gorro, entre outros...e uma cowl (para mim) que não ficou ao meu gosto e já foi desmanchada!

It's incredible, but this is the only picture I have from the Christmas presents I made...it's a bib I embroidered for baby Isla. In a year that we celebrate Christmas in Portugal, it's especially hard for me to finish all the presents on my to-do list on time so, because of that, most of them weren't photographed. Oh...there was a scarf with pockets, a calorimetry, a cowl, a hat, among others...and a cowl (for me) that I didn't like how it looked like and it's already frogged!

Agora estou a fazer uma honey cowl para mim, usando o super fofinho fio Andes da Debbie Bliss. Estou a adorar fazê-la...Feliz Ano Novo!

Now I'm making a honey cowl for myself using the super soft yarn Andes from Debbie Bliss. I'm loving it...Happy New Year!
