Casaquinho de Primavera :: Spring Cardigan

Finalmente a Primavera chegou à Irlanda (alguns dias de sol seguidos, mas ainda com frio) e, com ela, veio o casaquinho da Isabel. Estava quase acabado há duas semanas, mas com todas as contipações e vírus que têm andado a rondar os membros desta família, só preguei os botões e bloquiei o casaquinho há uns dias! 

É um modelo deste livro da Debbie Bliss, é simples de fazer e, embora se torne um pouco chato pelo meio (na minha opinião), fiquei muito contente com o resultado. Só fiz uma modificação ao pôr três botões em vez dos seis; achei que tornaria o casaquinho mais moderno e ficaria melhor à minha doce modelo...

Spring finally arrived in Ireland (a few sunny days in a row, but still cold) and so did Isabel's cardigan. It was almost ready two weeks ago but, with all the colds and virus we had around in the family I only managed to stitch the buttons and block the cardigan a few days ago!

It's a pattern from this book from Debbie Bliss, it's easy to knit and, although I think it becomes a little bit boring in the middle, I was very happy with the result. I only made one modification to it by having three buttons instead of the requested six; I thought this would make the cardigan look a little bit more modern and would look nicer on my sweet model...

Dia de São Patrício :: St. Patrick's Day 2013

O Dia de São Patrício é um dia para celebrar tudo o que é Irlandês...em nossa casa celebrámos com o pão de soda (o meu pão Irlandês favorito que eu fiz pela primeira vez), os nossos rebentos (são só 50% irlandeses mas também contam) e com a participação no desfile local com muita chuva e frio! Não foi nada mau...

St. Patrick's Day is a day to celebrate everything Irish...in our house we celebrated it with soda bread (my favourite Irish bread that I baked for the first time), our babies (only 50% Irish though ;)) and with the participation in the local parade with lots of rain and cold! Not bad at all...

De volta ao trabalho :: Back to work

De volta ao trabalho depois de meses a cuidar de uma bebé maravilhosa e do seu irmão super-querido :) Foi o máximo (e um bocadinho cansativo) estar com eles a tempo inteiro...a partir de agora teremos menos dias juntos, mas a mesma diversão e carinho! Já tenho saudades...

Back to work after months taking care of a wonderful baby and her super-sweet brother :) It was great (and a little bit tiring) being with them full time...from now on there will be less days together but the same fun and sweetness! I miss them already...

No dia 8 de Fevereiro de 2003 parti rumo à Irlanda ao encontro do meu príncipe :: On the 8th February of 2003 I moved to Ireland to join my prince

Mal posso esperar pelos próximos 10 anos...aqui ou em qualquer outro lugar :: I can hardly wait for the next 10 years...here or in anywhere else

Bye bye 2012

Despedimo-nos de 2012 em Portugal...de certeza que tivemos os nossos últimos dias divertidos do ano lá! Visitámos, falámos, almoçámos, jantámos e brincámos com pessoas queridas, que normalmente estão longe e de quem sentimos muita falta...foi óptimo :)

We said goodbye to 2012 in Portugal...we certainly had the last fun days of the year there! We visited, talked, had lunch/dinner and played with loved ones, loved ones that are usually far away and that we miss a lot...it was great :)

 No meio de tudo isto, foi Natal...a primeira vez em que um menino muito especial estava MESMO entusiasmado com a chegada do Pai Natal e os seus presentes :) ele divertiu-se tanto!! Este foi também o primeiro Natal para uma menina muito especial, que foi muito mimada com prendinhas muito giras (que o irmão ajudou a abrir) e que adorou as luzes das árvores de Natal. Nós divertimo-nos tanto que o James já está em contagem decrescente...faltam 11 meses :)

In the middle of it all there was Christmas...the first time a special little boy was REALLY excited about Santa Claus visiting and leaving him presents :) he had sooooo much fun!! It was also the first Christmas for a special little girl who was spoiled with cute little presents (that her brother helped her opening) and loved to admire the Christmas trees' lights. We had so much fun that James is already counting down...11 months to go :)

A árvore de Natal já está enfeitada há uma semana, a música desta época especial está a tocar em todo o lado, as prendas estão a ser embrulhadas, os postais estão quase prontos e a ser enviados e até já visitámos o Pai Natal...e agora há um certo menino que está muito entusiasmado e em contagem decrescente para o GRANDE dia (a mana dele gosta de olhar para as luzes da árvore de Natal e de posar para fotografias como uma mini-rena :))!! É definitivamente, e cada vez mais, a melhor altura do ano...

 

The Christmas tree is up for a week now, the special music of this time of the year is everywhere, the presents are being wrapped, the cards are almost ready and we even have already visited Santa Claus...and now there's a special little boy very excited and in countdown mode for the BIG day (his little sister likes to look at the Christmas tree lights and posing for pictures as a mini reindeer :))!! It is definitely, and more than ever, the best time of the year...
