News...at last!

Sim, é verdade...a razão do meu "desaparecimento" é esta :) Desde o princípio de Janeiro que não tenho tido muita energia para fazer qualquer coisa "crafty", se calhar porque tenho posto muita na produção do nosso primeiro rebento. Tudo parece estar bem...e algumas coisas estão a ficar cada vez mais redondinhas(eu, claro)!

Yes, it's true...the reason of my "desappearance" is this :) I have no energy or will to do anything crafty since the beginning of January; maybe it's because I've been working extra hard in the production of our first baby. Everything seems to be alright...and some thins are getting rounder and rounder (me, of course)!

Bye bye 2008...Hello 2009!

2008...what a year! From knitting scarfs, to knitting my first hat, my first baby booties, finish long x-stitch projects, create new ones and start sewing (little by little). I can't wait for 2009... here we go!! Happy new year everybody :)

Xmas in Portugal - part II

O Natal em casa dos meus pais foi óptimo, como sempre :) Muita comida, alegria e boa companhia. A Zézinha esmerou-se nos cozinhados e na decoração...até fez uns atilhos especiais em crochet (dourados e prateados) para os gardanapos (que fazem conjunto com a toalha) que fez para a ocasião. A convidada especial foi a nossa querida tia Fátima :) Até para o ano filhoses!...

Christmas at my parents was great, as always :) Lots of food, joy and great company. Zézinha outdid herself in the cooking and decoration...she even did special crochet laces (in silver & gold) for the napkins (that match the table cloth) that she made for the occasion. Our special guest was our dear aunt Fátima :) See you next year "filhoses"!...

Xmas in Portugal - part I

Primeiro visitámos a parte da família que está um pouco mais longe...na casa maravilhosa da minha tia Qué e prima Luísa :) Ali conhecemos o membro mais novo da família (foto abaixo), provámos deliciosas bolachinhas de manteiga (feitas pela Luísa), rimos, falámos e admirámos o trabalho da minha tia (ver penúltima foto com arranjo de flores) :) O retrato da artista é a última fotografia.

First we visited the part of the family that is a bit further away...in the wonderful house of my aunt Qué and cousin Luísa :) There we met the youngest member of the family (see photo below), tasted the delicious butter cookies (made by Luísa), laughed, talked and admired my aunt's work (see 2nd last picture with flower arrangement) :) The portrait of the artist is the last picture.

Carlow Christmas Fair

Hoje visitei uma feira de artesanato de Natal num dos lugares mais bonitos do Condado de Carlow, nas ruinas de Ducketts Grove. Aí apreciei o trabalho e conheci vários artistas locais; a minha preferida foi realmente a Mary Doyle da "Donard Workshop" que faz bonecos e pantufas giríssimas que podem ver aqui...as que comprei ainda não têm destinatário, mas eram tão giras que não lhes resisti :)

Today I've visited a Christmas Arts & Crafts Fair in one of the most beautiful places of County Carlow, the Ducketts Grove ruins. There I appreciated the work and met several local artesans; my favourite was Mary Doyle from "Donard Workshop" that makes beautiful dolls and slipers that you can see here...the ones I got weren't bought for anyone in particular but they were so cute, I couldn't resist them :)
