Os melhores adeptos do mundo :: The best supporters in the world

Os meus rapazes gostam de futebol e de apoiar as equipas da Irlanda e Portugal. Apesar da Irlanda não ter tido a melhor das campanhas no Euro 2012, eles festejaram sempre as suas cores :) O verde fica-lhes bem, não fica?

My boys like football and supporting Ireland's (and Portugal's) team. Despite the fact that Ireland didn't do so well in the Euro 2012, they always celebrated the Irish colours :) They look good in green, don't they?

Zézinha handmade for little ones

A minha madrasta Zézinha é muito prendada; sabe costurar, tricotar, bordar, etc, etc. Desde que tem um netinho e outro(a) a caminho, parte das suas criações tem sido direccionada (naturalmente) para o mundo das crianças :) Então vejam a almofada que criou para o quarto "grande" do James (que vos mostrarei aqui em breve)...não é fantástica? Inspirada num desenho do "Faísca McQueen" que o James tanto adora, ela criou o modelo e fez o appliqué com feltro, fitas e linhas prateadas. Está o máximo e James aconchega-se sempre nesta almofada no seu sofá quando é hora de ler uma história antes de ir para a cama :)

My stepmother Zézinha  is very talented; she knows how to sew, knit, embroider, etc, etc. Since she has one grandchild and another one on the way her creations have, naturally, been directed towards the world of children :) Can you take a look at this pillow she made for James' "big" room (that I will show you soon)? Isn't it fantastic? She was inspired by a drawing of the much loved "Lightning McQueen" created the pattern and did the appliqué with felt and silver strings. It's a really cool pillow that James always leans on in his couch when it's time for a story before bed :)

Quando nos visitou em Abril, a "vovó" Zézinha (como é conhecida por aqui), também fez um "Snuggler" para o(a) bebé que vem aí...e eu adoro-o!!! É um modelo do livro "Simple Sewing for Baby" da Lotta Jansdotter e foi feito com tecido "martini mustard" da Amy Butler. Mal posso esperar para ver o(a) nosso(a) bebé todo(a) aconchegado(a) ali dentro :)

While she was visiting us in April, "vovó" Zézinha (as she is known around here), also made a "Snuggler" for the baby that is coming soon...and I loved it!!! It's a pattern from the book "Simple Sewing for Baby" from Lotta Jansdotter and it was made with Amy Butler's "martini mustard" fabric. I can't wait to see our new baby snuggled inside it :)

Knitting again

 Pois é...eu tenho andado a tricotar, só não tenho tido a oportunidade de vos mostrar o que tenho andado a fazer. Agora que os projectos relacionado com o curso que andava a fazer no trabalho já acabaram eu posso, finalmente, respirar...e tricotar um bocadinho ;)

Este foi o primeiro Aviatrix que tricotei e adorei fazê-lo! Tricotei este modelo para o bebé de uma amiga (já para o próximo Inverno) e usei a minha adorada lã Malabrigo...ummmm! Acho que a mamã do bebé também adorou.

No meu próximo post vou mostrar-vos algumas das coisas que a minha madrasta fez para o(a) bebé e para o James enquanto nos fez uma visita em Abril. Vão adorar, são peças muito giras.

So...I'm still knitting, I just haven't showed you what I've been doing. Now that all the work with the course I did at work  is finished, I can finally breathe...and knit a little ;) 

This was the first Aviatrix I knitted and I loved it! I knitted it for a friend's baby (for next winter) and I used my beloved Malabrigo yarn...yummmy! I think the mother of the baby loved it too.

On my next post I'm going to show you some of things my stepmother made for the baby and James when she was visiting us...way back in April. They're great, you'll see.

Really nice weekend

O sol visitou a Irlanda nos últimos dias e nós adorámos!! Finalmente tivemos um intervalo no Inverno "eterno" que reina nesta ilha e aproveitámos ao máximo...com gelados...

So...the sun visited Ireland in the past few days and we loved it!! We finally had a break from the "eternal" winter and took full adavantage of it...with ice-creams...

...com festas (alguém escolheu ser uma borboleta...azul :)) para angariação de fundos para associações de caridade...

...with parties (in which somebody chose to be a blue butterfly :)) to raise funds for charity...

...e passeios na praia. Adoro o Verão...ainda que seja em versão mini e na Irlanda ;)

...and walks on the beach. I love the summer...even if it is a mini version and in Ireland ;)

Páscoa :: Easter

 Começou com uma "caça" aos ovos de chocolate...

It started with a chocolate egg "hunt"...

 ...com um cesto "ligeiramente" maior do que o do ano passado ;)

...with a "slightly" bigger basket than last year ;)

 A festa da Páscoa continuou com uma viagem de comboio antigo no sul da Irlanda...

The Easter party continued with an old train trip in the south of Ireland...

 ...com um bocadinho de chocolate do Coelhinho da Páscoa!

...with a little bit of chocolate from the Easter Bunny!

...depois vieram o vovô e a vovó :)

 E um dia fomos todos visitar os cavalinhos ao "Irish National Stud".

And one day we all went to visit the little horses at the Irish National Stud.

 O James divertiu-se muito, especialmente quando teve a oportunidade de dar uma voltinha num pónei muito fofinho chamado Banjo :)

James had a lot of fun...especially when he got the opportunity to ride little sweet pony Banjo :)
