Uau...que surpresa boa! Eu nunca imaginei que alguém andasse a ler o meu blog e que gostassem dele...bom, nunca pensei que muita gente o andasse a ler e a apreciar para além da família e amigos que eu lembro (constantemente) de que tenho um blog ;) Foi fantástico!...Obrigado Leya!

Cu Cu

Cucu...está aqui uma girafa a espreitar :) É a minha primeira girafa de ponto cruz (de uma série de 3) para a minha amiga Tracey, que as adora! Elas até são parecidas...nas pestanas ;)

Baking with K

O fim-de-semana trouxe-nos coisas doces...bolinhos e K. Foi muito divertido passar a tarde de sábado na cozinha com a nossa sobrinha :) e depois comer alguns bolinhos (receita da Jennifer) e ver "Babe" na tv!

The weekend brought us sweet things...little cakes & K. It was really fun to spend the Saturday afternoon in the kitchen with our niece :) and then eat some muffins (Jennifer's recipe) and watch "Babe" on tv!

The adventures of sock knitting

No que é que eu me meti...a fazer meias! Pois é, como diz a minha amiga Célia, a chuva ajuda ao crescimento da minha creatividade e eu já me estou a preparar para o Inverno :)

What did I get into...knitting socks! That's right, like my friend Célia says, rain helps the growth of my creativity & I'm already preparing for Winter :)

Há umas semanas atrás increvi-me na aula de tricotar meias na loja "This is Knit" e no sábado passado tivemos a primeira aula. Pois...o meu "trabalho de casa" não estava muito correcto (= a minha meia servia a um elefante :)), mas deu para practicar e tentar fazer o calcanhar. Ontem tivemos a segunda e última aula e eu tinha passado a semana toda a tricotar (nas poucas horas livres que tive) para compensar o tempo perdido e quando cheguei lá descobri que não tinha as instruções correctas para o tipo de lã em que tinha tricotado e agora as minhas meias estavam um bocadinho mais pequenas do que deviam :(

A few weeks ago I did put my name down for a knitting socks class in the "This is Knit" shop and last Saturday we had our first class. Yeah...my "homework" wasn't quite correct (= my sock would fit an elefant :)), but I practised and tried to do the heel. Yesterday we had our second & last class and I had spent all week knitting (in the few hours I had free) trying to make up for the lost time; when I arrived there I found out that my pattern wasn't the right one for the yarn I was using and my socks were now a bit smaller than they should be :(

Pelo menos este par de meias vão ser de uma pessoa querida com os pés um bocadinho mais pequenos que os meus :)

At least these socks will be given to a dear person with slightly smaller feet than mine :)

A sunny little corner

Assim estava a nossa casa nas últimas 2 semanas de "onda de calor" aqui na Irlanda ;) Estava tão luminosa e acolhedora que não resisti a tirar-lhe algumas fotos. Entretanto, a chuva está de volta..."Quelle surprise"!

This was our house during the last 2 weeks of "heat wave" here in Ireland :) It was so bright and warm that I couldn't resist to take some pictures. By the way, the rain is back... "Quelle surprise"!

Good Mail

Vocês não gostam de receber correio? Eu adoro!...Sempre. E fico ainda mais contente quando é um "pacote" especial, vindo de longe e de uma pessoa querida. Sexta-feira recebi um desses pacotes...uma revista "Marie Claire Idées" (que eu adoro!), vinda directamente de França, enviada pela minha tia Ju. Oh... que belo dia :)

Don't you like to receive mail? I love it!...Always. And I'm even happier when is a special "package", that comes from far away sent by a lovely person. Last Friday I received one of those packages...a "Marie Claire Idées" magazine (which I love!), sent by my aunt Ju directly from France. Oh...what a beautiful day :)

Esta revista não está à venda aqui na Irlanda e eu só a comprava quando tinha a sorte de a encontrar numa das minhas idas a Portugal. Quando fomos a França no princípio deste ano, a minha tia Ju reparou neste meu interesse especial pela "Marie Claire Idées" e, desde então, tem-me mandado todos os números, normais e especias, da revista. É como se ela fosse a minha "fairy godmother" das revistas, tornando os meus sonhos em realidade :) Obrigado ti Ju!

This magazine is not on sale in Ireland and I only bought it when I was lucky enought to see it on one of my trips to Portugal. When we went to France at the beginning of this year, my aunt Ju noticed my special interest for this magazine and, since then, she has sent me all the issues, even the special ones. It's like if she was my magazines' "fairy godmother", making my dreams come true :) Thank you ti Ju!

Knitting update

Estas são as peças que acabei nos últimos tempos...sim, sei que não tenho sido muito produtiva, mas tenho sempre outros projectos criativos em andamento, por isso, até não é muito mau ;) A primeira é o meu gorro Noro, começado e acabado em Maio; o segundo é outro cachecol "This is Knit", feito a pensar numa menina muito especial, e é já uma prenda de Natal :)

These are the pieces that I have finished in the last while...yes, I know I haven't been very productive but I always have other creative projects going so, it isn't that bad ;) The first one is my Noro hat, started & finished in May; the second is another "This is Knit" scarf, knitted for a special little girl, and is already a Christmas present :)

Já viram quantos projectos eu tenho em andamento? O primeiro é um "mar" de quadradinhos que irão "abraçar" um bébé muito querido quando eu acabar de os coser uns aos outros...O segundo é um xaile que ando a fazer para mim, o terceiro é um cachecol para oferecer e o quarto e último é uma experiência (nada complicada) em forma de cachecol. Ufffa...

Have you seen how many projects I have ongoing? The firs one is a "sea" of little squares that will "hug" a very sweet baby when I finished sewing them together...The second one is a shawl that I am making for myself, the third one is a gift-scarf and the fourth & last one it's a non-complicated experience presented as a scarf. Ufff...

E uma nova aventura começa...no próximo fim-de-semana vou aprender a fazer meias!! Yuppi!!

And a new adventure begins...I'm going to learn how to knit socks!! Yuppi!!
