Australia - Blue Mountains

As montanhas azuis despertaram o nosso interesse quando andavamos a decidir o que iamos fazer durante as ferias. Como ficam perto de Sydney, decidimos ir la ver porque sao tao famosas...
Com uma visita guiada pelo "nosso amigo" Danielle (um mocinho australiano de origem italiana que chegou ao hotel com 45min de atraso e que tinha uma certa tendencia para acelerar...), comecamos a nossa visita de um dia.
O Danielle ia relatando o nosso trajecto, qual comentador de futebol em dia de Benfica-Porto. Foi o maximo! As montanhas, essas, eram espectaculares...o nome de montanhas azuis vem da aurea azul que paira sobre as montanhas (na maior parte dos dias) devido ao oleo dos eucaliptos da floresta ou "bush" (aqui chamam "bush" a tudo o que lembra vegetacao).
Uma das minhas partes favoritas, para alem das paisagens, foi dar de comer a um "kangaroo" :-) e fazer festinhas a um Koala num santuario de animais que havia na zona. Ora vejam...

We decided to visit the Blue Mountains when we were booking the holidays; they're near Sydney so we decided to go and see what all the buzz was about...

We had a guided visit from Danielle (an australian guy with Italian descent that arrived at the hotel to pick us up 45 min late and that liked speed...) in a mini-bus with 12 other people for a whole day.

Danielle commented everything enthusiastically, just like those football matches commentators in a day of a big match (e.g. Benfica-Porto). It was great! The mountains were amazing...their name comes from the blue glaze that takes form above the forest or "bush" (most days) due to the oil in the eucalyptus trees. One of my favourite parts of the day, besides the wonderful landscapes, was feeding a kangaroo :-) and pet a Koala in an animal sanctuary near by. Just take a look...
