Hi there - thanks for posting on my blog - those bolas sound fantastic - are they anything like portuguese natas (is that the right word? little custard filled tarts)? I LOVE those. You mentioned that you live in the island where it never stops raining and the sheep look like clouds. I wondered where that was and now I now...my home country! I left Ireland 12 years ago but go back many times a year. Hope you can put up with the rain. If it's any consolation living in London for the past year has been just as bad weatherwise!
Hi Annie :) Thank you for your lovely comment. It is funny that you're from Ireland and guessed where I am living from my description :) Oh...I like it here, despite the (lots of) rain! Of course I also need to go to Portugal a few times a year to get my quota of sunshine and time on the beach :) hopefully enjoying a "Bola de Berlin". They are not like the "Pastel de Nata", the cake you mentioned (and that I also LOVE), but they are just as yummi :) I have a book with its recipe; if you want, I can send it to you...
