O primeiro Natal do James em Portugal :: James' First Christmas in Portugal

Foi passado a divertir-se com os tios (e primos, tias-avós, madrinhas-avós, amiguinhos, etc)...having fun with his uncles (and cousins, great-aunts, great-godmothers, etc)...

...a estorvar o bisavô Lopes que já estava com fome e mal podia esperar para chegar ao restaurante...in the way of great-grandad Lopes (who was already starving and couldn't wait to go to the restaurant)...

...a receber o primeiro Pai Natal de chocolate da Bisavó Emília...receiving his first chocolate Santa Claus from great-grandmother Emília...

...a ir ao circo e a adorar ver os tigres...going to the circus and loving the tigers...

...com o primeiro presente desembrulhado na manhã de Natal...with his first unwrapped present on Christmas morning...

...e a brincar com o avô e os (pobres) dos pássaros no quintal :) Inesquecível!...and playing with grandad and the (poor) birds in the back garden :) Unforgettable!

Fa la la la la la la la la...O Inverno chegou!

A nossa caminhada matinal foi assim hoje...já vai sendo um hábito. A paisagem é encantadora, mas nós nao arriscamos ir para o trabalho de carro (há muito gelo por debaixo desta neve linda e fofinha); como temos a sorte de trabalhar na vila, vamos a pé. A créche do James fica a caminho e ele é um dos poucos meninos que consegue chegar lá com este tempo. Ele parece uma bola de la com toda a roupa e acessórios em cima, mas adora ir brincar com os seus amiguinhos :)

Fa la la la la la la la la...The winter is here!

Our morning walk was like this today...it's becoming a habit. The landscape is beautiful but we didn't want to take the risk of going to work by car (there's a lot of ice under that fluffy, beautiful snow); because we're lucky to work in the town, we walk to work. James' créche it's on the way and he's one of the few children that make it there with this weather. He looks like a ball of wool with all the clothes he's wearing but he loves to go there & play with his little friends :)

O Pebble do James

Estou muito contente com o resultado...tricotei o "Pebble" do James em menos de 1 semana e foi super fácil. A lã que usei é Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran em cor-de-laranja e os botões são verde-aqua da caixinha de botões que herdei da minha avó Ana :) Foi assim que aconteceu:

I'm very happy with the result...I knitted James' "Pebble" in less than 1 week and it was super-easy. The yarn I've used is Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran in orange and the buttons are aqua-green form the button box I inhereted from my grandmother Ana :) This is how it happened:

Basket making

Acreditem ou não, no sábado passado fiz um cesto...e gostei muito! Foi uma iniciativa da minha amiga Margaret :)

Believe it or not, I made a basket last Saturday...and I loved it! It was all because of my friend Margaret :)

The Big Knit

Hoje foi o último dia da grande Tricotada de 2010...No pacote enviei 20 gorrinhos acabadinhos de sair do "forno" ;)

Today was the last day of the Big Knit 2010...I sent 20 little hats straight from the "oven" ;)

Spider Boy

Esta foi a primeira vez que o James se mascarou para o Halloween...A nossa aranhinha querida teve um dia cheio de brincadeiras, docinhos (mais para ver do que para comer) e travessuras ;)

This was the first time that James dressed up for Halloween...Our dear little Spider Boy had a full day, playing and collecting sweets (more to see than actually to eat) ;)

5th

Esta foi a quinta cowl que eu tricotei no espaço de um ano (esta última feita para a minha querida amiga Stela em Brown Sheep's Bulky Wool)...e ainda não tenho nenhuma! Como é que é possível? Adoro esta...

This was the 5th cowl I knitted in the last year (this one was made for my dear friend Stela in Brown Sheep's Bulky Wool)...and I still don't have one myself! How is that possible? I love this one...
