Fa la la la la la la la la...

Fa la la la la la la la la...The winter is here!
Our morning walk was like this today...it's becoming a habit. The landscape is beautiful but we didn't want to take the risk of going to work by car (there's a lot of ice under that fluffy, beautiful snow); because we're lucky to work in the town, we walk to work. James' créche it's on the way and he's one of the few children that make it there with this weather. He looks like a ball of wool with all the clothes he's wearing but he loves to go there & play with his little friends :)

O Pebble do James
I'm very happy with the result...I knitted James' "Pebble" in less than 1 week and it was super-easy. The yarn I've used is Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran in orange and the buttons are aqua-green form the button box I inhereted from my grandmother Ana :) This is how it happened:

Spider Boy
This was the first time that James dressed up for Halloween...Our dear little Spider Boy had a full day, playing and collecting sweets (more to see than actually to eat) ;)

5th
This was the 5th cowl I knitted in the last year (this one was made for my dear friend Stela in Brown Sheep's Bulky Wool)...and I still don't have one myself! How is that possible? I love this one...

First time in the local park
Last weekend our little one went to the park for the first time (without being asleep in his pram)...He loved seeing and "talking" with the other kids and walking everywhere ;) It was a lot of fun!

Beehive Hat
The other day my favourite model let me take a few pictures of him wearing his new hat, the "Beehive Hat" (Ravelry link) that his mammy knitted especially for him :) The photo session went so well...I'm sure I'll be hiring him again soon!
Boa sorte!
Talking about knitted and handmade stuff, my friend Margaret is having 2 giveaways, one on her blog, the other on her new website, to celebrate the openning of her new shop and workshops "Margie's Crafts". To be with a chance of winning you just have to leave a comment on the posts by the 10th Ocotber. Good luck!

O primeiro corte de cabelo...First hair cut
Mr James' hair was getting very long (he was already the hairiest baby in the crèche)...it was time for his first haircut! He had just woken up from his morning nap, when he found himself being separated from part of his lovely hair :) After that, happy with the result, he continued with his plans for the weekend...
My hands

Sometimes I think my hands are amazing... I especially like to use them to knit, to "talk", to bake, to feel James' hair and cheeks, to eat, to touch and now to sew :) I loved Rosa's workshop that I took part during my holidays in Portugal this summer...we made this little pin cushion with traditional portuguese fabrics. Loved it! Now I "just" need to do the (long due) homework... my hands are too busy, we need to schedule this!!

Cute as a Button

I've finally finished James' little summer cardigan...it's a pitty that James is not available to model it right now (he's sick, but in a good mood). I loved making this little cotton raglan cardigan (from Lisa at This is Knit), but cotton is no Malabrigo (the yarn I can't resist) ;) Now we're only missing the summer...

Knitting Update (kind of)

I don't have many pictures of what I have been doing but I managed to find one of the "coral" scarf that I made to the winner of my last giveaway in February...my darling aunt Qué :) it was so soft in Araucania yarn....ummmm....my giveaways always have (lots of) extras ;)

Last weekend I was tidying up my yarn...it's a pity that my head works faster than my hands because I have "millions" of ideas and a "shop" at home (like my dad says)...If only I didn't have to go to work ;)
